  • Hoboken Ave & Oakland Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square
Vehicles routinely turn right onto Oakland Ave coming off of eastbound Rt. 139, going the wrong way down this stretch of Oakland (between 139 and Newark Ave). There needs to be clear markings that this is a one way street before there is a head on collision. I've avoided collisions while in my car and having a car come at me, and as a pedestrian even saw a port authority jitney bus just fly around the corner coming off of 139 and speed down Oakland going the wrong direction. Pretty sure if nothing is done there will be a catastrophe soon...

The basketball net was stolen on the western hoop at the basketball court at Sgt. Anthony Park. Also, the padding on the base of that hoop was vandalized (and is now gone- maybe parks dept removed?) a while ago. Would be great to get repaired/replaced.

Trash pickup last night did not pick up two sheets of particle board that were placed with bagged trash (not big). It is my understanding that particle board (like from ikea furniture backing) is not recyclable due to all the resin/glue in it. Please send someone to pick it up or let me know if it is indeed recyclable and we will bring in and put out on recycling night.

The beg buttons on the east side of Oakland to cross 139 are not working. I did not try the ones on the west side…

Light in the back of Sgt Anthony Park is out. This is passed the basketball court all the way back in the north east corner of the park.

Street light broke in the storm, now hanging by a cable.

Someone dumped a mattress and box spring on the sidewalk on Fleet Street on Sunday night (1/19); I suspect it's from the side apartment of 389 Baldwin Ave. Haven't been able to catch anyone home to ask them to properly wrap/dispose of, and so they're now blocking the sidewalk and partially the driveway entrance to 65 Fleet St.

The pedestrian signal on the SW corner of Baldwin and Rt. 139/Hoboken Ave is facing away from pedestrians trying to cross. It’s impossible to see.

Trash was not collected on the scheduled night!

This intersection of Hoboken Ave at Oakland has become very dangerous for pedestrians. The pedestrian crossing paint is worn away, and there are no yield or stop signs for cars. The map is misleading, since now there is a curve for cars heading SW to turn from Oakland onto Hoboken Ave (again, no crosswalk paint or slow signs to allow for pedestrians to safely cross Hoboken). Also, the cars heading NE on Oakland often turn left onto Hoboken Ave, again, not yielding to pedestrians or even using turn signals. It's become very dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists here with the opening of Rt. 139.

Bikes just rotting on the sidewalk for months now. They should be removed.
  • 12-22 Cook St Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
This street is fairly unsafe for pedestrians- during rush hours especially. The sidewalk on the north/west side of the street is too narrow for more than one pedestrian at a time, while the south/east side is filled with trash and during the days, parked cars. Often, people just have to walk in the street. Granted, it's mostly just busy during rush hour (with walkers and jitneys and speeding cars) but it shouldn't be neglected until there's an accident/someone is injured.

There are two manhole covers that have come loose and are extremely loud as cars roll over them. This happened with one of the manholes previously and was fixed after a month or so (thanks). The same one is again loose, as well as another one maybe 15 yards from the original.

The manhole cover on Rt. 139/Hoboken Avenue, just west of Baldwin Ave, has become loose and is extremely loud when cars and especially trucks go over it. Just started maybe 3 days ago...it needs to be fixed.
