This has been there for sometime most people go in the other lane to avoid it...(it - meaning it is a bunch of smaller pot hole all together making one really big one. I am sure the PW staff has encountered it going over the ferry street bridge..right as you go over the bridge heading twords state street in the right hand lane. See attached map to show you were. The hole have gotten bigger and people moving to avoid them (into the left lane) is starting to become dangerous.

I posted about this same stretch when State St was milled and repaved. I asked why wasn't it done then. The answer was that since State St is designated as Route 5 in that area it was the CT DOT that did the work. It's high time that New Haven mills and paves this area. We're only talking about a single block between State St and Middletown Ave

Tech I agree. and it is getting worse. but you are right about doing the whole thing. And I am sure the city gets some state money to maintain the bridge and this little bit of road effect the bridges integrity.

With NAPA on one corner and the gas station on the other there's heavy truck traffic. Additionally, if you live in Fair Haven or Cedar Hill this area gets pounded with traffic anytime there's an incident on I-91 southbound. That's additional cars and trucks beyond the regular volume along with the school buses from the yard on Middletown Ave. I hope this summer is the year this block gets done. Even with the mild winter we had the potholes that open up here are terrible due to the condition of the road

???? this was not fixed.... I was told if I reopen this will not be seen by the PW do I have to repost a new one or will they see this if I reopen....Why did PW close this??? Not even a shovel full of patch.

Not true. We may miss a few but we do try to read responses and reopened issues. Keeps us in touch with our public. We closed it because work order returned with "patch done" but we'll take another look. Thanks for reporting.

We are closing older 2012-2016 Pothole issues in order to focus on current pothole issues. Many of the older issues were addressed through our Streets Division but were never closed. If your pothole issue has not been addressed, please open a new See Click Fix issue. Thanks!
